CCCS Firehouse & Sac Youth Center

A big thank you for all those who joined us for celebration and conversation at the Cocoa & Cookies Community Night at CCCS Sac Youth Center. Special appreciation goes to Lexie Clark, School Counselor, and Peer Crystal Gonzales, Director of Peer Work at the Sacramento Youth Center for speaking about services and programs available to our students.

Today, as part of our celebration of Native American Heritage Month, one of our students brought in a drum which was handmade by his grandmother. They are of the Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians in the Clear Lake area, and we were honored they shared this beautiful artifact with us.

Students in Ms. Sharits’ government class experienced government up close in their visit to the capitol!

We're excited to introduce the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council (SSAC)! 🎉

This group of students from Futures High School, CCCS (Community Collaborative Charter School), and Sacramento Academic & Vocational Academy are dedicated to representing the voice of GCC students throughout the school year. They will meet regularly with Superintendent Sample to provide feedback and share their perspectives on the student experience at GCC. The SSAC will also be addressing issues that impact students and presenting innovative solutions to improve our schools and programs. 💡📚

Yesterday marked the inaugural meeting of the SSAC, and it was a great success! 🏫
