Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!
In 2019, for the first time in California state history, we proclaimed the second Monday of October as Indigenous Peoples’ Day and will continue to do so. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we celebrate and honor the acts of resistance and persistence that have shaped the experiences of indigenous communities since first contact with Europeans.
