Sacramento Academy of Musical Arts students, since many of you love Korean boy bands, I want to invite you to a special afternoon of Korean Art Songs & Diction with acclaimed soprano Dr. Josephine Lee. This is a wonderful chance to explore the language and musical style of the artists you already admire.

WHEN: Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 PM
WHERE: San José State University School of Music (Room 150)

- A live recital of beautiful Korean art songs;
- An insightful lecture on Korean art songs and clear, authentic Korean diction for singers;
- A hands-on masterclass and sing-along.

Whether you come just to listen to the masterclass, you’ll leave with new inspiration and practical tools.

Dear Students and Friends,

I am thrilled to share that I have recently stepped into the role of Cal-Western Region Student NATS (SNATS) Coordinator for the National Association of Teachers of Singing!

In this new capacity, I look forward to collaborating with university and college faculty, students, and chapters across California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. Together, we’ll focus on establishing new SNATS chapters, strengthening existing ones, and empowering the next generation of singers and voice educators.

We are happy to announce the start of a new semester and welcome back our returning students and new students to our musical family!

We are starting this semester on a very positive note, celebrating so many wonderful accomplishments by our students! One is our talented alumna Sofiia Dorozhkina, who has just begun her freshman year at the Eastman School of Music. Here is her last performance as a Sacramento Academy of Musical Arts Alina Ilchuk Voice Studio student!
