Congratulations to the Class of 2026! Your school is so proud you! We congratulate the students, but also the parents that supported them and the teacher's who educated them! We wish everyone a safe and fun celebration!

This week has been a wonderful celebratory time for Mira Loma. MLHS held the 2026 Senior Awards Night (Tuesday night) the IS Awards (Wednesday) the IB Graduation Breakfast (Thursday morning) the Senior Farewell Rally (Friday) and the CTE Certification Awards (Friday Night)! There is still another week of school left (with finals starting Friday ) but for now, it's been great to celebrate the accomplishments of so many Matadors!

Tomorrow night is the MLHS Senior Awards Night. It is one of the many create celebratory nights at Mira Loma! Students receiving Senior Awards have received invites to this event (although any Senior is allowed to attend)! They and their family are invited to attend as many of the medals, ribbons, sashes and pins that will be worn at graduation are awarded this night!

Students are encouraged to wear a semi-formal attire as there will be many pictures taken! This festive event begins at 6:00 pm, is located in the Large Gym, and is a free event.

Happy Memorial Day Matadors!
In observance of Memorial Day, there is no school today. School will resume at the regular start time of 8:30!

Memorial Day is US federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the United States military. It's a day of remembrance and solemn reflection, not a "happy" holiday, and it's important to remember the sacrifices of those who died for their country. The long weekend allows us to remember those who have fallen in the service of our nation and enjoy the unofficial start of summer! See you tomorrow !

The end of the school year can be filled with so many emotions; excitement, stress, optimism and anxiety. On May 27th Mira Loma will be hosting a Mental Health Event in the main quad from periods 2-5! This event is designed to help our students recharge right before finals and head into summer feeling clear‑minded and energized. We hope to see many of our students there!

On Friday, Mira Loma High School held our annual Pleasantville Exhibit, and it was an outstanding showcase of student learning and creativity this year. Pleasantville is an interdisciplinary exploration of literature, film, and history designed to help students examine and critique historical representations of the past, contextualize stories and nostalgia, and better understand the evolution of the world they have inherited.

This year’s exhibits explored a wide range of fascinating topics, including the Red Scare, the rise of Betty Crocker in American homes, suburbia and VA home loans, the growth of the commercial aviation industry through TWA, the Woolworth lunch counter protests, the opening of Disneyland, and much more.

A very special thank you goes to Mr. Bender, Mira Loma’s International Studies English teacher, whose vision, creativity, and hard work helped create and organize this incredible event!
