Its shows have featured art from students, alumni and faculty. Now they will have world renowned artists featured in this upcoming exhibit. Don’t miss this show!

Citrus at the Capitol! Our Citrus College Trustees and Dr. Schulz our Superintendent/President found a Citrus tree at the Capitol in Sacramento and thought it was the perfect place for our photo! We are here with our student Trustee, Sabrina Soriano to advocate for Citrus College with our legislators. We also heard from Cal state Chancellor, Mildred Garcia and Cal Community Colleges Chancellor, Sonya Christian about how those two great systems are working together for students. Of course when you take photos with our student Trustee, there always have to be a “crazy picture”. Thank you for doing such a great job helping us in our advocacy.

The Aspen Institute has once again recognized Citrus College as one of the nation’s top 150 community colleges! As a result, Citrus College has received its sixth consecutive invitation to compete for the $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation’s top recognition of high achievement for community colleges. I am extremely proud of the efforts of our faculty and staff, leading to this distinction as one of the top 150 community colleges in the nation. I am also grateful for the strong student-centered leadership and support of our board of trustees.

FIRST FLIGHTS
Today we had three students in the NC 108 Drone Mapping class that took their very first flight with a drone. They used the DJI Mavic Mini 2 after having watched a demo of a mapping mission performed using the DJI Air 2s with DroneDeploy autonomously controlling the collection of a building for the creation of a 3-D model

Today was an exciting day as we celebrated the reopening of our ED (Education) building. I had classes in this building when it was new years ago. Now it’s new again!
Thanks to sustainable and efficient design, as well as building automation and energy management, total energy consumption is expected to drop by almost half and it will exceed California Energy Commission Standards, saving more than 170,000 kilowatt hours of energy per year.
Inside, beautiful artwork of inspiring scientists, writers and educators adorn the walls. New labs will help us extend STEM education.
Thank you to our communities for approving the bonds that help us provide state of the art facilities to serve our students.

I attended the Gold Line track completion ceremony today in LaVerne. Mike Hillman, Citrus College Fine Arts Faculty, is the artist for the Glendora station. Citrus College is an advocate for the Gold Line to be completed to Claremont and Montclair so that more Citrus College students can get to campus using transit.

⛳️ The Citrus College Athletics Department is set to host its annual Golf Classic on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the San Dimas Canyon Golf Course. All proceeds directly benefit our 16 athletic teams and support programs at Citrus College. This tournament is not possible without the generosity and commitment of our participants. Previously, with your support, we have generated thousands of dollars for athletics over the years, and we hope to continue this success again this year. Sign up today with the link in our bio! 🦉

Hoot Hoot to our favorite Owl today. I don’t normally wear a bow tie but today is Dr Schulz Day! In honor of his birthday and in recognition for the many contributions to Citrus College and the success of its students. Dr Schulz is the President/Superintendent of Citrus College. He leads with love and is known by everyone on campus as a caring leader. Happy Dr Schulz Day!
