The Iranian and Middle Eastern Studies Center was very proud to host Dr. Hesam Abedini here on campus in October. He gave a presentation on intercultural music in Iran in the afternoon, then an interactive workshop on classical Iranian music in the evening! We are so grateful to Dr. Abedini for sharing his time and expertise with our campus community and enriching the Sac State experience for our Hornet Family! 🐝

The book is a fascinating ethnographic study of Iranian immigrants in the United States and Germany and will be of interest for anyone thinking about questions of race, power, immigration, and politics.
