Eta Delta Chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.

Today, the Eta Delta chapter would like to congratulate our lovely sister, Maria Agurrie Contreras! She graduated, as part of the class of ‘26, with a Bachelor in Sociology. As she journeys into her post-grad life, she shares her favorite memory with the chapter:

“My favorite memory would be any opportunity that I had throughout these past years to be around sisters and being surrounded by unconditional love. From froyo runs with my line sisters after chapter meetings, study nights, and random hangouts. To celebrating my first Lambdaversary and becoming APM alongside my FS to my wonderful Neos, LTA has truly with no doubt given me a support system throughout my undergrad years and a lifetime sisterhood🩶”

The Eta Delta chapter is extremely proud of Maria and all her accomplishments. We cannot wait to see how much more of an impact Maria will continue to have as she ventures beyond California State University of Sacramento. 🌴🌙🐚

Why LTA? I chose Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc., not only because we are the first and largest Latin sorority, but because I immediately felt at home. I have met so many inspiring women and created real friendships through our sisterhood. LTA’s philanthropy and values reflect what I care about, our culture, our stories, and our community. I am beyond grateful and blessed to be a part of this organization and the Eta Delta chapter with all my sisters!

Why LTA? 
I chose LTA because I wanted a sense of belonging in college. I have always been a bit shy when it came to making friends. When I met previous members they made me feel so welcome and cared for. With my sisters I now feel like I have family away from home. I am so excited to continue being in such an amazing sisterhood in the Eta Delta chapter!

I chose LTA because of the special connections I made. I love making new friends but being away from home, I just wanted something more. I met the lovely lambda ladies and the rest of Line six and everyone was so welcoming it felt like home. I loved how they were not only the first but that they were these latina baddies who understood that cultural background and how much education matters as first gen. I made such a beautiful connection with everyone and now I get to call them my sisters.
