The district figured it out.
🍎✊🏽❤️
📢 Through our unbreakable solidarity, we forced WCCUSD to FIGURE IT OUT!
It was OUR COLLECTIVE POWER that forced the District back to the table and paved the way for an agreement that lays a foundation for the safe and stable schools our students deserve.

Thank you, Councilman Walker-Griffin, for walking with the educators of UTR and for sharing your story. This is why the educators are on the strike lines, so that they can retain amazing classroom teachers like Ms. Nam.
My fifth grade teacher, Ms. Nam, was the person that sparked my love for government. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be in office today. I am one of countless examples of students that had a teacher push themselves to accomplish things my 10 year old self would have never imagined. I was proud to picket alongside her and all of the great staff at my alma mater of Ohlone Elementary School. Go Eagles!
Our educators here in West County deserve better! They take on some many roles that aren’t weren’t listed the job description: from parent, life coach, therapist, a home, the list goes on. In a time where we have instability in Washington, here at home we need to do everything we can protect and uplift our educators!
I am proud to stand with and all the Teamsters in this fight! Not uplifting our educators means we aren’t lifting our future.

A frightening warning about AI powered toys.
AI toys are giving kids B**M advice and tips on finding knives, experts warn
They may look harmless under the Christmas tree this year, but a growing wave of child-safety experts are raising alarms about toys powered by AI.

Headed home after a busy 2-day CTA Board meeting. Made some important decisions on the direction of our union and took time to celebrate the passing of Prop 50.
Now the work on Prop 55 ramps up. Locals should be receiving their petitions soon and member to member conversations will be happening across the state. Extending Prop 55 will maintain the current education funding here in California. Without the extension, we will see major cuts to programs and classrooms across the state.

I had the privilege of attending the annual Imperial SCC Equity Team Dinner this evening. This is a great event where all the locals in the Valley are invited to break bread together and talk about equity. This year the Imperial Valley LGBTQ Resource Center was invited to share what they offer the community.
