Every day, millions of people get health advice from social media.
What to eat. What supplements to take. How to reverse diseases.
The problem isn't that people are sharing their experiences.
The problem starts when opinions start sounding like medical advice.
And we doctors today spend a significant part of our consultations correcting myths patients have picked up online.
In fact, China has announced regulations restricting non-qualified individuals from providing medical and health-related advice online.
Because health misinformation has real-world consequences.
Medicine isn't just knowledge.
It's years of training, pattern recognition, clinical judgment, and experience treating thousands of patients.
What works for one person may help another.
Or harm them.
Health advice isn't dangerous because it's wrong 100% of the time.
It's dangerous because it can be right for some people and harmful for others.
Social media needs creators.
But it also needs credible medical voices.
Because when misinformation spreads, patients suffer first.
And when health advice is driven by engagement instead of evidence, everyone pays the price.

3-2-1 rule
How to build a balanced pizza 🍕
Start with a thin crust.
Then follow the 3-2-1 rule:
✅ 3 vegetable toppings
Mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, spinach, tomatoes, arugula
✅ 2 protein toppings
Grilled chicken, shrimp, paneer, tofu
✅ 1 cheese
Mozzarella is enough
Skip:
❌ Extra cheese
❌ Stuffed crust
❌ Double meat
❌ Creamy sauces
A balanced pizza has:
✔ Protein from Paneer, Tofu or Meat
✔ Fiber from vegetables
✔ Carbs from the crust
✔ Fat from the cheese
Pizza doesn’t need to be unhealthy. The toppings decide whether it’s a balanced meal or a calorie bomb.
