🎉 Big things are happening at Witter Ranch Elementary! We're thrilled to kick off a brand new recess program with our friends at and even more excited that Assist Academy grant funds are making it possible to save the school $13,567.64 that can go directly back to their students. 💚

This is exactly why we do what we do. When schools in our community have a high need for character education, SEL, and PBIS-aligned programs, Assist Academy steps in to make sure cost is never the barrier.

Here's to more recess, more connection, and more kids thriving. 🙌

We were honored to present the ASSIST Student Athlete Award to Davin Horsley at McKee Elementary! 🏆

This $500 award will help support registration fees, equipment, and continued training as he pursues basketball and football.

Davin represents what this award is truly about — not just athletic ability, but character. Discipline. Resilience. Leadership. Heart. The willingness to show up early, stay late, and give his best whether it’s in the classroom, on the court, or on the field.

Behind every strong student-athlete is dedication, sacrifice, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Davin embodies that mindset, and it shows.

We’re proud to continue recognizing young leaders and supporting student-athletes right here in the Elk Grove community.

Launching at select EGUSD sites, this new recess-based leadership opportunity empowers students to assist (yes, pun intended 😊) our amazing coaches during structured play.

Through hands-on leadership at recess, students build:

- Emotional intelligence 🧠

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all school sites will be closed on Monday, 1/19. All staff members will be enjoying the day off as well.

✨ What a wonderful Family Engagement Night at Sunrise Elementary! Families enjoyed exploring students’ amazing arts and crafts created over the past month and had fun getting to know our staff through our staff engagement poster filled with fun facts. Thank you to all the families who joined us for a night full of connection, creativity, and community! 🌟

✨ Athlete Scholarship Spotlight ✨

Jr. (Shawn), one of our December recipient from West Elementary, is putting his scholarship to great use as he continues to grow and train as a multi-sport athlete. This support helps cover essential gear like football cleats and gloves, as well as preparation for upcoming basketball tryouts. From offseason football training to getting ready for basketball season, JR’s dedication shows that the grind never stops. We’re proud to support his hard work and commitment! 💙🏈🏀

Xavier and his family are incredibly grateful for this scholarship and the opportunity it provides. In the spirit of teamwork and generosity, Xavier chose to share the award with his sister, Santana, placing the funds into their savings for next year’s football and cheer seasons.
