Thrive Preschool Sacramento

This morning, I grabbed some things from around the kitchen, and we created our own unique version of ooblek (corn starch, water and flour)! It made a sticky, stretchy, ooblek like goop! Next week we will try actual ooblek which is just cornstarch and water, and feels like a solid and a liquid!

It was nice to sit back and watch our friends scoop, pour, drip, squish, and just get messy without inhibition!

If a friend worries about making a mess, I like to quote the book “It’s Ok to Make Mistakes” by Todd Parr which says: “it’s ok to make a mess, we can clean it up!”

So, play on, and be inspired to make intentional and beautiful little messes!

We had a beautiful time making fresh orange juice 🍊 with oranges from our neighbors tree!
We juiced enough juice for a whole pitcher full, but left the activity with only a third of the juice! At least there will be enough to try out for snack later!
We are looking forward to activities and art with our frozen orange peel boats!

Play dough potato heads were too much fun!
Our toddler friends have been enjoying labeling their eyes, ears, nose, etc., so today we brought out the Mr.Potato Heads and some homemade blue play dough!
Pro tip: add some vanilla and a dash of cinnamon to your dough! It smells delicious!

Our Fall Fun Event wasn’t as busy as we planned but it was so cozy, quaint, and great memories were made! We are so thankful for those who were able to make it, and for our family and friends who helped make it such a fun time!
Carson had the time of his life playing and meeting new friends, and he even helped make dinner!

Oh let the sun shine in! ☀️
As the lighting changes in the fall and into the winter, the sun shines through our front windows in the most beautiful way!
We put magna tiles or color blocks onto the windowsill or beam of light shining on the table and the floor.
I enjoy this activity just as much as the kids!
