Will and I spend a whole lot of time teaching and working together at the music school, but I really love getting the chance to play with him, too. So nice to be playing together again this fall! -𝒥𝒶𝒸𝓆𝓊𝒾 ❤️

We have a new teacher at JMS this year!
Meet Jared Vigue! 👋🎶

Jared is a lyric tenor and classically trained vocalist from Waterboro, Maine. A graduate of the Osher School of Music at the University of Southern Maine, he has established himself as both a performer and dedicated educator.

During his studies, Jared earned recognition as a two-time Honors Recital winner and two-time Concerto & Aria Competition finalist. He was awarded first place in the Maine National Association of Teachers of Singing Vocal Competition and recently received Opera Maine's prestigious Ellen Chickering Young Artist Award—an honor presented annually to singers demonstrating exceptional potential for a professional operatic career.

Jared has performed leading roles with regional opera companies, including Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville, Bastien in Mozart's Bastien und Bastienne, and Benvolio in Romeo and Juliette. Beyond the stage, he is passionate about helping students discover and develop their own vocal potential through private instruction and personalized guidance.

A little peek at what I’m doing this weekend! 🎶 I’m in Cincinnati at the Music Teachers National Association Leadership Summit, pictured here with fellow state presidents and presidents-elects from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania!

What I’m loving most is the connection. We’re talking about the joy of being active leaders and mentors, how to lead well, and how to care for ourselves so we can keep showing up for our communities without burning out. I’m feeling inspired and grateful to bring these conversations home to MaineMTA and to our studio.
