🍎✨ Back to School at Young School! ✨🍎

This afternoon we had the joy of kicking off the school year with a Back-to-School Staff lunch and a fully stocked Teacher Supply Bar filled with classroom essentials. It’s just a small way to show our appreciation for the amazing staff who give so much to our students every day. 💚🐻

🍎 Join the Young School PTO! 🍎

A new school year is almost here, and we’re excited to welcome current and new PTO members!

Whether you can volunteer at one event, help behind the scenes, share ideas, or simply want to stay involved, there’s a place for you in the PTO. Every contribution—big or small—helps make a difference for our students, teachers, and school community.

📅 Our first PTO meeting is Wednesday , September 2, at 6:00 PM. We’d love to see new and returning members there! Come meet other families, learn about what we have planned for the year, and find out how you can get involved.

📋 If you plan to volunteer at school or at PTO events throughout the year, please be sure to complete the S**o Schools Volunteer Form. Approval is required before volunteering and can take up to 2 weeks, so please plan ahead.

💚 THANK YOU, YOUNG SCHOOL FAMILIES! 💚

What an incredible night at On The Wild Side!

Seeing our field filled with laughter, smiling faces, bouncing kids, music, delicious food from our concessions, exciting raffles, and families enjoying time together is exactly what makes this event so special. The joy and excitement throughout the evening reminded us why we work so hard to bring these opportunities to our school community.

Thank you to every family who attended, supported our raffles, visited our concession stand, enjoyed the activities, and helped make the event such a success. Your participation and enthusiasm are what turn an event into a memory.

We hope your children left with tired feet, happy hearts, full bellies, and stories to tell. 🐾💚

💚 What a Wild and Wonderful Night! 💚

As we reflect on our On The Wild Side event, one thing is abundantly clear: the heart of this event was our volunteers.

While the children saw bounce houses, face painting, temporary tattoos, delicious treats, and an evening full of fun, we saw the countless hours of planning, organizing, setting up, serving, cleaning up, and problem-solving that made it all possible.

To every volunteer who gave their time, energy, and heart to this event—thank you.

Whether you spent months helping plan, worked a shift at a station, helped with setup or cleanup, donated supplies, or jumped in wherever needed, your contribution mattered. Because of you, our students and families were able to enjoy a night filled with laughter, excitement, and memories that will last long after the school year ends.

Events like this don’t happen because of one person. They happen because of a community of people who care deeply about our school and are willing to show up for our children.

We are beyond grateful for each and every one of you.

🐋 A Whale of a Day at Young School! 🐋

Yesterday, Friday, June 5, our students had the opportunity to meet Chunk, a life-size inflatable humpback whale, and learn all about whales and ocean life with Jessica from Within the Whale!

From 8:15 AM to 2:00 PM, every class at Young School took a turn stepping inside Chunk and discovering what makes these incredible animals so unique. Students learned about whale body parts, what whales eat, where they live, and why they are so important to keeping our oceans healthy.

The excitement and curiosity throughout the building were contagious! It was amazing to see our students so engaged and eager to learn through this hands-on experience.

A huge thank you to Jessica from Within the Whale for spending the day with our students and sharing your knowledge and passion for marine life. We are so grateful for the opportunity to bring experiences like this to Young School and create memories that our students will be talking about for years to come.
