Hill Stadium has a whole new look in fall 2026, anchored by a special recognition for an extraordinary coach.

People attending an event at Paul S. Hill Jr Stadium will notice two things: a new turf and track, and a new name on the turf – Kezal Field.

The TA Board of Trustees voted to honor Kevin’s legacy as the most successful football coach in the school’s storied history.

Kezal-led teams have reached the state championship 10 times – including the last seven – bringing home seven gold balls. The Trojans' victory over Portland in 2025’s title game also gave Kevin his 200th win against only 56 losses.

Congratulations to Coach Kezal on this well-deserved honor!

It will be a special evening at Hadlock Field tonight as TA Class of 2022 alum Cody Bowker will be making his AA debut for the Reading Fightin Phils by taking the mound against the Portland Sea Dogs, who currently have Red Sox phenom Roman Anthony on the team for a rehab assignment.

Bowker was a standout pitcher and player for the Trojans, helping secure the program/s first Class A State Championship. After stints at Georgetown and Vanderbilt, the right hander was drafted with the 100th pick in the 2025 draft by the Phillies. He's now been promoted several times to now be just two steps away from "The Show."

The state champion Thornton Academy Girls Lacrosse team was honored for its truly historic season by Mayor Jodi McPhail, S**o City Councilors, and City Administrator Ryan Pelletier at a very special City Council Meeting on August 3 at City Hall.

Under first-year Head Coach Kelly Foley, the team finished 15–2 and captured the first girls’ ball sport state championship in Thornton Academy history, marking several program milestones along the way. "More than the records, awards, and championship, this team represented Thornton Academy and the City of S**o with pride, sportsmanship, and determination, inspiring the next generation of student-athletes," said Mayor McPhail.

Their championship banner and trophy will be the first of their kind displayed in the new Miles Field House, forever marking their incredible achievement.

Congratulations to Coach Foley, her assistant coaches, and the entire 2026 Girls Lacrosse team on an unforgettable season. The academy and your community are proud of you! City of S**o Government
