“Stripie” became a beautiful monarch butterfly and the kids couldn’t get close enough to see as we set her free. “Stripie II” did not disappoint as she ate her way through her chrysalis and displayed her big gorgeous wings. Thank you Ms. Debbie for bringing us both caterpillars for our group to enjoy! 🐛🦋
We have had so much fun this month welcoming new friends and getting ready to learn together. Welcome Fall! 🚌🐻🍁🍎

As summer ended we said a bittersweet goodbye to our dear friends Mia, Henry, Owen and Liam as they graduated to Preschool and Pre-K. We love them all so very much and are thankful for the joy, laughter, thoughtfulness and creativity they brought to our group. We all grew so much while they were with us! We wish them the best of luck at their new schools. ❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗
We want to give a warm welcome to our new teachers Ms. Debbie, who joined us in June and Ms. Kathleen who joined us in August. Our kiddos are so lucky to have 2 amazing teachers with lots of passion, talent and joy for teaching! We are so thankful to have them as part of our daycare family. 🙌💫🙌✨
We enjoyed some of Lillian’s “food art” for delicious afternoon snacks, Ms. Debbie’s oatmeal cookie recipe for “beary sweet treats”, painting, outdoor dancing and our very own Very Hungry Caterpillar. The kids named him “Stripie”. 🐛

Not a summer goes by that I don’t pull out our Hungry Caterpillar book to read over and over to our daycare children. Thank you Mr. Carle for sharing your talent as an author and illustrator and creating so many wonderful children’s books. You will be missed. 💚🐛🦋🐛🦋💚

From the Eric Carle Team: It is with heavy hearts that we share that Eric Carle, author and illustrator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and many other beloved classics, passed away on Sunday, May 23rd at the age of 91.

When asked why he thinks The Very Hungry Caterpillar has remained popular for so long, Carle said, “I think it is a book of hope. Children need hope. You, little insignificant caterpillar can grow up into a beautiful butterfly and fly into the world with your talent.”

Thank you, Eric Carle for sharing your great talent with so many generations of young readers.

What a great week we had soaking up the beautiful Spring weather! Some of our littles were playing hide n seek in one of our pine trees today. Forest bathing for the win! 🌲☀️🌳🌷

It has been a busy start to our school year!We have been blessed with 2 new teachers Miss Sam and Miss Olivia who are very loved and appreciated by the daycare children, their families, myself and my family. Welcome!

One of our daycare Moms and Grandmother found a monarch caterpillar that the children named “Duncan the Munchie Caterpillar”. We watched each day as he munched his way through several milkweek leaves, grew into a fat caterpillar 🐛 and spun his chrysalis. Duncan hatched out of his cocoon into a beautiful butterfly over a weekend so we made sure to take lots of pictures before setting him free. We shared a video and pictures of him with the children the following Monday. Thank you Shelly Landry and Carol for allowing us to create a hands on, truly educational experience for our littles!! The kids loved it! You’re the best!

This year we have 3 school aged children who are either full time or partially distance learning due to the affects of the Coronavirus. It can get quite busy with online classes, meetings and school work throughout the day but thankfully we are all working as a team to make this year a successful and fun one for our school aged students. The big kids planned a musical theater day 🎭 and dressed up as Anna, Elsa and Kristoff from Frozen. They enjoyed singing, acting and “letting it all go” during nap time while the littles were sleeping.

Our toddlers and preschoolers have been busy getting to know one another and our new teachers. Temperature checks from teachers greeting them in face masks and hand washing upon arrival has become routine for our kiddos. They are all becoming comfortable with their daily routines, practicing listening skills, taking turns and sharing. We have been singing new fall songs ( Falling Leaves and 5 Little Pumpkins seem to be their favorites) and reading lots of fun Fall books. We are so proud of how far our group has come in the past 2 months.
