This morning our BBHS Seniors enjoyed a walk down memory lane when they visited their former elementary school! Seniors stopped in and enjoyed a parade through the school that included photos of their former 5th grade selves, younger students offering their congratulations and cheering them on and even some hugs from former teachers! Then there was the great sing-a-long with music teacher Greg DiMiceli!

Today is no ordinary Monday! Here in Westchester County, it is officially Mark Greenwald Day!

A huge thank you to County Legislator Nancy Barr for presenting the Blind Brook High School Principal with a formal Proclamation. Mr. Greenwald is retiring at the end of this school year after an incredible 40-year career in education—including 31 dedicated years right here at Blind Brook.

The Class of 2026 recently celebrated the annual Senior Breakfast, sponsored by the Junior Class. Seniors received their yearbooks and then spent their time signing each other’s books, reading their 6th grade letters and reminiscing about their years in Blind Brook. After the breakfast, they received shirts bought by the PTA and gathered in the auditorium to watch the Senior montage. This was a great way to begin the countdown to graduation!

What a great night of sharing!

For more than 20 years, BBHS seniors have had an amazing opportunity to explore potential careers, time to pursue a passion project or assist with a community service project as part of the Senior Options program.

The program has seniors spend several weeks with an organization, including businesses, non-profit organizations and even work on an area of personal interest. Students then present their experiences to the community and peers during a special evening.

Students interned in real estate offices, financial institutions, local schools, museums, non-profits and some even shared interactive displays of their experience, including learning to play the piano and documenting their recovery from ACL surgery!

Congratulations to Lenna Zacharoulis for her second-place award in the category of Medicine & Health! Lenna was among seven BBHS sophomores in the Honors Science Research Program who competed in the Somers Science Fair on Saturday, June 6. Joining her were Nirvaan Bhuva, Ryan Brown, Kai Elliott, Nate Kolow, Maggie Miao, Jackie Rosen. The competition is the second largest science fair in the country and is unique in being for proposed science research by high school students

“This is the only science research competition of its kind in New York that provides the opportunity for first-year science research students to present their intended research design in a formal setting,” said Dr. Jacqui Johnson, BBHS’ Director of Science Research.

“This competition provides a unique opportunity for first-year science research students to present, via a poster in a competitive setting, their in-depth understanding of their own proposed research that they could conduct given proper resources and facilities, based on a thorough review of previous literature,” she continued.

Congratulations to the Blind Brook High School Class of 2026 Top Students, Kayleigh Curran and Pablo Zeitune!

The two were honored for their achievement during the 58th Annual Carroll F. Johnson Scholastic Achievement Dinner, held on June 3. The event is sponsored by the Lower Hudson Council of School Superintendents. Joining them were Superintendent Dr. Brian Alm, Board of Education Vice President Correy Stephenson and BBHS Principal Mark Greenwald.
