So...At Toddler University, we run, and play and take buggy rides, we visit with the chickens and feed them weeds, and play in the frog pond. We eat foods that are prepared for us from the gardens that are organic and we learn and grow in an environment that encourages learning through play. Congratulations for choosing this environment for me. It's different than everywhere else, but that's what makes it SPECIAL!!!

What would your children say?

I am so fortunate to be surrounded by so many caring and loving adults who have reached out to ask how they could help Jack (a friend of mine who is recovering from a recent brush with death allegedly at the hands of someone who was suppose to love and care for him). In my years of working with young children, I have found the best way to help anyone (or to encourage others to help) is to foster the notion of being "A hero without a cape". To quote one of my mentors; Fred Rogers, "When I was very young, most of my childhood heroes wore capes, flew through the air, or picked up buildings with one arm. They were spectacular and got a lot of attention. But as I grew, my heroes changed, so that now I can honestly say that anyone who does anything to help a child is a hero to me."
Teach your children to be friends with those who need a friend, share a lunch with someone who has no lunch, be kind and not judgmental. In teaching your children to be a "Hero without a cape", you are fostering and being the change you want to see in the world. Keep fighting Jack. You are a SUPER HERO!

Today our friends enjoyed home made pasta salad (yes, we made the pasta too and we added garden fresh kale to the pasta). The kids absolutely gobbled it up and they will be extra energized this afternoon!

I appreciate all of the people in my neighborhood. Big and little, near and far!

Introducing...the 2015 Graduates of Toddler University! Most of these guys arrived here being carried by their parents and they left today running, jumping, and laughing! They have grown together and have learned how to be a friend. While there is a piece of my heart that has gone with them, I am so pleased to know they are destined for greatness (because they already are)!
I love you guys...
