I’m closing this GoFundMe today.
Not because the need wasn’t real — but because this became a social experiment with a clear result.
Experiment 1: asking for personal support during a complex, documented hardship.
Experiment 2: asking for support around a real invention (ClariClip™), already built, patented, and drawing interest.
Different stories. Different contexts.
Same outcome.
What I learned is that people are far more comfortable watching than participating — especially when situations require nuance, trust, and belief in someone who is still capable, articulate, and standing.
Public platforms reward simplicity and spectacle. Real life is more complex.
I’m deeply grateful to the few who showed up quietly and sincerely — including this $5 gift that meant far more than the amount.
I’m moving forward through other paths now — legal, professional, and strategic. This chapter is closed.
