As we prepare our Camp Ruston exhibits in anticipation of the Americans and the Holocaust traveling exhibition, we're taking a moment to reflect on one of Louisiana's most remarkable World War II stories.

From 1942 to 1946, Camp Ruston housed thousands of prisoners of war just miles from Louisiana Tech University. Through photographs, documents, artifacts, and personal accounts, the Camp Ruston Collection preserves the stories of those who lived, worked, and served here during the war.

Scroll through for a look at historic images from Camp Ruston and the moments that shaped its story.

Pardon our progress! 🚧

As we prepare to welcome the Americans and the Holocaust exhibit to Prescott Memorial Library this fall, we're curating new displays that highlight the stories of Ruston and Lincoln Parish during World War II.

Stay tuned for exhibits exploring Camp Ruston and the impact of the war on Ruston, Louisiana Tech, and our local community. We can't wait to share these stories with you!

From campus tours to Bulldog traditions, orientation has been a key part of the Louisiana Tech experience for generations.

Check out our new display, "Where the Tenets Take Root: Louisiana Tech Orientation Through the Years" on the main floor of Prescott Memorial Library this summer to explore how generations of Bulldogs began their journey at Tech!

We're excited to share a recent addition to the Archives!

The Albino Hinojosa Artwork Collection has grown thanks to a generous donation from the artist himself. A nationally recognized realist painter and former Louisiana Tech art professor, Hinojosa is celebrated for his detailed paintings that capture the beauty of everyday objects and North Louisiana landscapes.

This donation includes four original works of art, a selection of art books and publications, and drawing mannequins that once belonged to Mary Moffett, the artist behind Louisiana Tech's beloved Lady of the Mist.

This quarter, we were so thrilled to host Dr. Elaine Thompson’s “Paleography & Transcription” course in the Archives. Students transcribed letters from the Israel Shreve collection. The letters, written or received by Shreve, give a rare and personal glimpse into the day-to-day life of a military officer during the American Revolution. This week, we hosted a special guest, Dr. Henderson, who worked with our students and Dr. Thompson to transcribe one of Shreve’s letters. This class is such a benefit to both the students and the Archives, and we are so grateful for their contributions!
