Louisiana Tech graduate students AJ McFarland and Chris Miller recently developed an antimicrobial/antiviral medical textile that can be used for filtration of the air as well as used in N95 masks; these masks are what medical professionals are wearing to protect them from COVID-19.
The team, led by Dr. David K. Mills, recently won NASA’s Ignite the Night Pitch competition and has now been selected to compete in the Department of Defense’s SBIR 20.2 ‘DREAM TEAM’ competition. This program is designed to promote innovative technology to support the DOD, and the winner will receive funding to support winning Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR).
