The Campbell County Branch of the NAACP is excited to announce our annual Freedom Fund Banquet, "We the People Need to be United"! The keynote speaker will be Hon. Tamika Jones of the Fairfax General District Court. At the banquet, we will be presenting the Freedom Fighter award to our treasurer, Mrs. Sandra Pugh. We will also be presenting the Community Service Award to Pastor June Berger, Pastor Elaine Brown, and Pastor Sinclair Hall.

Today is the first day of early voting for the upcoming August 4 primary elections!

If you haven’t registered yet or need to update your registration, you can do so until July 24. You can view your registration status here (https://www.elections.virginia.gov/citizen-portal/).

You can also apply to vote by mail! The deadline to apply for a mail ballot is July 24. You can apply or view your application status here (https://www.elections.virginia.gov/citizen-portal/).

The last day for early in-person voting is August 1. To view the full primary election schedule for Campbell County, you can visit the Registrar’s site here ( https://www.campbellcountyva.gov/623/Election-Information-Public-Notices).

Virginia’s 5th Congressional District for US House of Representatives will have both a Republican and a Democratic primary. Virginia’s Senate race will have only a Republican primary, as the Democratic Party already has their nominee. Don’t forget to vote!

This April, Virginia is holding a special election to decide the issue of mid-cycle redistricting ahead of the general election in November. You can read more about the ballot measure here (https://www.elections.virginia.gov/election-law/proposed-amendment-for-april-2026-special-election/).

Below are important dates and reminders about the election:

If you have not already registered, there is still time! Be sure to register or update your registration by April 14, 2026.

If you want to apply for a ballot to be mailed to you, be sure to do so by April 10, 2026. Directions can be found at the Citizen Portal here (https://www.elections.virginia.gov/citizen-portal/).

NOTE: If you choose to mail your ballot back in, be sure it is postmarked no later than April 21, 2026. To ensure a valid postmark, take it to a post office and ask for it to be postmarked there. Your ballot must be received by the registrar by 12 noon on April 24, 2026. If you choose to return your completed ballot in-person to the registrar, there is a dropbox outside the registrar's office in Rustburg for your convenience. You should be sure to drop off your ballot by April 21.

If you want to vote early in-person, you can do so at the registrar’s office until April 18, 2026.
