Want to be a 4-H Shooting Sports Coach? 🎯🍀

Instructor Certification Training will be held on September 12, 2026, at the Arkansas 4-H Center. Registration is open now through Sept 4 in Zsuite!

💲Registration: $75 (In-person portion) + $20 (online portion)
🗓 Date: Saturday, September 12th
⏰Time: 8am-5pm
📍Location: Arkansas 4-H Center, 1 Four H Way, Little Rock

Certification available for: Archery, Rifle, and Shotgun

All participants must be approved 4-H volunteers and complete the required Arkansas 4-H volunteer screening and enrollment process prior to training. This process includes: ZSuite volunteer enrollment, volunteer background screening, mandated reporter training, and county volunteer approval (in Zsuite). Volunteer requirements should be completed prior to certification training.

OUTDOORS SURVIVAL CAMP! 🏕️🔥🛶

Last week, we partnered with Pope County Office of Emergency Management to provide a free Outdoors Survival Camp.

On Thursday, the Cloverbud and JR 4-H’ers learned about safety in the woods, what to do if you are lost, snake identification, water safety, and even got to see how Search and Rescue uses a drone to search for missing people.

On Friday, the Intermediate and SR 4-H’ers learned the basics of CPR and First-Aid, how to build a shelter, map reading, snake identification, fire safety, water safety, and more survival skills. We wrapped up the day with mock search and rescue mission to find “Rescue Randy” in the woods!

Our Multi-county JR Homemakers Summer Series was a great success. We had our Sewing and Crafting Camps in July. Thank you to Pope County Farm Bureau for giving us a space to hold our last 2 camps in Russellville.

For sewing camp, everyone made their own tote bags. For craft camp, we painted homemade flags, created personalized magnets, decorated flowerbed/garden rocks, personalized bandana bracelets, and made bag charms for our tote bags.

It has been a very fun and educational summer for Pope County 4-H!
