Let's take a closer look at the individuals who give their time, energy, and talents to make our 4-H clubs possible.

We asked our 4-H members and families to share why they are thankful for a 4-H mentor or club leader. These messages highlight just a few of the many ways our volunteers make a difference and remind us of the impact they have on the young people they serve.

From teaching new skills and creating opportunities to encouraging youth, offering support, and simply being there when they're needed, our club leaders make a difference.

🍀 THANKFUL THURSDAY: HIGHLIGHTING OUR 4-H CLUB LEADERS! 🍀

Pope County 4-H is fortunate to have club leaders who give their time, energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm to provide meaningful opportunities for our youth. From livestock and horses to STEM, cooking, arts, leadership, and more, our club leaders help young people find their place in 4-H.

Today, we’ll be highlighting some of the amazing individuals who make Pope County 4-H what it is. Thank you to ALL of our 4-H club leaders for everything you do for our youth!

Their answers?
Because of 4-H, I made new friends.
Because of 4-H, I am more confident.
Because of 4-H, I have honed my skills in public speaking.
Because of 4-H, I have a scholarship opportunity.
Because of 4-H, I am more active.
Because of 4-H, I made a second family.
Because of 4-H, I am going to a national championship.
Because of 4-H, I am a better leader.
And those are just a few of the ways 4-H can make a difference. 🍀
4-H gives young people opportunities to build friendships, develop confidence, discover their strengths, learn valuable skills, take on leadership roles, and reach goals they may never have imagined.

🍀 Kicking off National 4-H Week in Pope County! 🍀

The Teen Leaders 4-H Club was excited to welcome Judge Ben Cross to their meeting on Monday, October 5. Judge Cross joined the Teen Leaders to sign a proclamation officially designating October 4–10, 2026, as National 4-H Week in Pope County.

We are excited to celebrate the many opportunities, experiences, and positive impacts that 4-H brings to youth throughout our community!

Thank you, Judge Cross, for recognizing the importance of 4-H and helping us kick off National 4-H Week! We all appreciate your dedication to supporting our 4-H program here in Pope County. 💚

The Pope County Teen Leaders 4-H Club is stepping into the spotlight with a new mission: telling the story of 4-H! Throughout National 4-H Week, our Teen Leaders are serving as 4-H reporters, sharing their 4-H experiences, highlighting opportunities within the program, and showcasing the impact 4-H has in our community.

Today (Monday, October 5th) is GO GREEN Day.
🍀 Wear your 4-H Green to school, work, etc. to show your 4-H pride!
🎉 Remember to come by the extension office in your 4-H green or send Ms. Ashton your GO GREEN photos to be entered in a fun giveaway. The winner will be announced tomorrow!

Also, don't forget Thursday (October 8th) is THANKFUL THURSDAY.

The Pope County Poultry Chain Auction will be Saturday, September 19th starting at 3pm at the fairgrounds! 🥚🐔🍀

All 4-H’ers participating with poultry chain birds are expected to be present in auctioning off their birds per their signed contract. If you are unable to attend, it is your responsibility to find another 4-H member to assist with your poultry chain birds.
