Congratulations to Dr. Robert “Rob” L. Stevens!

Dr. Stevens, associate professor of rehabilitation science and counseling at Arkansas Tech University, has been selected to participate in a professional education program through the Harvard Graduate School of Education as part of a multi-year pathway toward earning the Executive Certificate in Higher Education Leadership.

Dr. Stevens serves as graduate program director for ATU’s Master of Science in Counseling programs and was recently elected vice chair of the Arkansas Tech Graduate Council.

Beginning in February 2027, he will attend a four-day leadership institute on the Harvard University campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He plans to complete two additional qualifying Harvard professional education programs over the following two years.

“I am excited to learn from Harvard faculty and from colleagues working at colleges and universities across the country. More importantly, I look forward to bringing new ideas and perspectives back to Arkansas Tech and finding ways to use what I learn to better serve our students, faculty and university community,” Stevens said.

Dr. Stevens’ selection reflects a continued commitment to professional growth, leadership and strengthening graduate education at Arkansas Tech.
We look forward to seeing how this experience contributes to his work with our students, faculty and Graduate Council.

Join us as Stephanie shares her professional journey and insights on discovering your passions and building a meaningful career.

The presentation will take place October 28 at 1:00 p.m. in Doc Bryan Lecture Hall.

Arkansas Tech University faculty members Tracy Cole and Thomas Pennington will be the featured speakers for the September 2026 edition of Pints and Professors at Point Remove at Central Fire Station in Russellville Downtown.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8. Pints and Professors is open to the public.

Cole is dean of the ATU College of Business and Economic Development and professor of legal studies. Her Pints and Professors presentation is entitled “Pour Decisions and the Buzzkill: What Arkansas Hosts Should Know About Liquor Liability.”

Pennington is professor of legal studies in the ATU College of Business and Economic Development. His Pints and Professors presentation is entitled “Likes, Laws and Liability: The Legal Side of Social Media.”

The Arkansas Tech Graduate College would like to congratulate Amber Rush and Maggie Waymack-Cope on being named to the Leadership Arkansas Class XXI!

Rush earned her Master of Business Administration from Arkansas Tech University and currently serves as Vice President of Finance at Ozarka College.
Waymack-Cope is a two-time ATU graduate, holding degrees in Health and Physical Education and Kinesiology and Exercise Science. After 15 years in education, she now serves as an Account Executive with Pinnacle Structures.
