What a great first week back it has been!
Today in math with Mrs Behm, students looked at their Studer Data results from the spring survey. Students were analyzing the 20 questions and how our students scored each over a three-year period. Students looked at questions in the higher scoring areas and discussed evidence that could support the higher scores. Then they looked at the lower scoring areas and discussed reasons why these are lower and how we could improve them. Each group discussed an area that we could work on and some ways we could make it better. Loved the cooperation of each group!

Once student stated today, “teachers must really look at the scores/data because we’ve grown over the past three years so you all are using this data to make our school better”

We would like to thank our board member Ms. Shawnri Gamble for donating one of her newly published books to our school! We had the pleasure of teaching her son, and it’s an honor to be able to share his story with our students! The book is titled “My Belly has a Bag”, and it teaches students about kindness and acceptance. It also helps build bravery, confidence, and positive self-image. Thank you, Ms. Gamble for the signed copy of your beautiful book! We will also be purchasing copies of the book for students to check out in the library!

Our teachers have been working hard this week on team building, instruction, PBIS, restorative practices and more! We are ready to see our students and kickoff a great year!!

Families,
Our 1st-5th grade Open House is tomorrow evening. Please arrive ON TIME at 4:00 PM OR 5:30 PM depending on your child's grade level. If you have multiple children in multiple grades, you may choose one time to attend. First, we will start in the gym for a short meeting. Then, you will go to your child's classroom. If you've already picked up your black registration folder from school, please bring it back with all the completed papers. Please enter through the gym doors tomorrow evening. Also, look at the attached flyers for more information. We will also sell Panther Blankets at the Open House. The money we make will go to the Stevenson Elementary Student Activities Account. We look forward to seeing you soon!
