Arkansas Tech University students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends are mourning the loss of Olivia Johnson.

A two-time graduate of Arkansas Tech, Olivia was serving as coordinator of student success and instructor of business administration in the ATU College of Business and Economic Development at the time of her passing.

Today, we celebrate a generous gift that will make a significant difference in the lives of Arkansas Tech University students and their families.

ATU President Dr. Russell Jones announced on Wednesday, Oct. 7, that the ATU Foundation has received a $3.15 million donation from the Windgate Foundation.

The majority of the gift — $3 million — is earmarked for the Windgate General Endowed Scholarship and the Sue M. Frueauff Memorial Endowed Scholarship.

The additional $150,000 will be utilized by the ATU Foundation to help bridge gaps for students in immediate need of financial assistance to continue their studies.

Just in time for the beautiful fall weather, the Clary Pickleball Courts have re-opened at Arkansas Tech University.

These students were enjoying the courts on Monday afternoon. The courts were briefly closed for resurfacing, but the intense competition (and fun) have now resumed along North Boulder Avenue.

Clary Pickleball Courts were made possible through the philanthropy of ATU alumnus and former ATU Board of Trustees member Bill Clary of Conway and his family, including his father, ATU professor emeritus of secondary education Dr. Eldon Clary.
