Women’s Christmas, or Nollaig na mBan, marks the quiet close of the Irish Christmas season.
Observed on the twelfth night, it was traditionally a day when the women of the house could step back after the work of Christmas. In many homes, it meant tea shared with friends, a short gathering, or simply time to rest once the season had passed.
