The Rockets started their season at the Bulldog Fall Fiesta in Mexico, Missouri on Saturday. They went 3-6 to finish 10th of 14 in the varsity division.
Lily Heitz scored 49.17 points per game and was named 6th place on the all-tournament team. This was her first varsity all-tournament appearance!

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL IESA TEAMS

The IESA has just approved three changes for next year.

The biggest change is that bonuses will switch from being four parts read all at once to three parts read one at a time. The IESA bonus format will be the same as the IHSA bonus format, which is similar to the bonus format used throughout the country. The same bonus format is used in the questions at https://ms.quizbowlpackets.com/, so teams have a lot of practice materials. If you want to watch videos to see how the format works, we recommend the NAQT YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/. Reinstein QuizBowl is willing to help any team, coach, or moderator who wants help with the transition. Let us know how we can help you!

The two other big changes are that coaches can challenge an answer and that the slaughter rule does not go into effect until a team reaches 500 points.

The Rockets went 1-2 on Sunday to finish 33rd in the Traditional Public Schools Division at the NAQT Small School National Championship Tournament.
Their two losses include one to eventual national champions West Point A of Alabama.
The Rockets finish the season with a record of 57-28.

The Rockets had a great Saturday at the National Academic Quiz Tournaments Small School National Championship Tournament!
They went 7-3 in the prelim rounds to take a place in tomorrow's playoffs.
Adam Wise scored 69.59 points per game to finish 12th in individual scoring and be named an All-Star in the Traditional Public Schools division.

With wins over Beardstown and PORTA, the Rockets are back-to-back-to-back regional champions!
Tonight we also celebrated the many accomplishments of our senior class, as well as our All-Sectional and WCC All-Conference winners.
The Rockets travel to Pleasant Plains on Saturday for sectionals.

After clinching at least a share of the West Central Conference title last week at QND, the Rockets have finished the job and taken the title outright with a 480-130 win at Hamilton!
They finish the regular season at 46-20 and will begin IHSA postseason play on Monday night at RIHS.

02/27/2025

With wins tonight against Payson and Southeastern, the Rockets have clinched at least a share of the West Central Conference title!
They are now 7-0 in conference play and 43-20 overall.
