Benjamin Rush Middle School is looking for an 8th Grade Preparing for College & Careers Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year!

This unique course helps students explore career pathways, develop employability skills, prepare for high school, and begin thinking about their plans after graduation. It's a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on students as they prepare for their next chapter. This will also include a semester of Computing Foundations.

Who can apply?

✅ Anyone with an active Indiana Secondary Teaching License is eligible to teach this course.

All student-athletes must have a current sports physical on file before they are eligible to participate in practices or contests.

Here's what you need to do:

✅ Schedule a sports physical with your healthcare provider.
✅ Complete the IHSAA Physical Form.
✅ Upload the completed physical to your student's **FinalForms** account.

Need a physical form?

📄 Pick one up in the **BRMS Office** or print a copy directly from the **BRMS website**.

Getting your physical completed and uploaded early helps ensure your student is ready to hit the ground running when practices begin!

**Understanding Possible Discipline Consequences at BRMS**

At Benjamin Rush Middle School, discipline is about more than consequences—it's about helping students learn, grow, and make better choices. Our goal is to create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment where every student can be successful.

When students make mistakes, we view those moments as opportunities to teach responsibility, accountability, and decision-making skills. While consequences are sometimes necessary, they are intended to help students reflect on their actions, repair harm when appropriate, and return to the classroom ready to learn.

Depending on the severity, frequency, and circumstances of a behavior, possible discipline consequences may include:

• Lunch Detention
• After School Detention
• Extended After School Detention
• In-School Suspension (ISS)
• Out-of-School Suspension (OSS)

The graphic below provides an overview of each consequence and what families can expect if their student is assigned one.

At BRMS, every situation is reviewed individually. Our goal is always to use fair, consistent, and appropriate responses that prioritize student learning, personal growth, and the safety of our entire school community.
