McCarter (DMin, Carolina Graduate School of Divinity) serves as Pastor of the Rural Hall Christian Church near Winston-Salem, NC and as Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program of the Charlotte Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Wesley has earned degrees in biblical studies and is now pursuing Ph.D. research in New Testament with the North-West University. A happy husband and proud father of

two, he enjoys spending time with his family, the mountains and beaches of NC, training in jiu-jitsu, buying books, watching Netflix, and eating Asian food. The primary function of the page is to point people to the website: www.progressandjoy.org. There you can find articles on various subjects, sermon notes, Bible study notes, answers to Bible questions, thought-provoking statements, and more. Since the early 2000s, Wesley has worked in Christian ministry for and with the First Christian Church of Lenoir, Christ's Church in Lenoir, Fort Trial Christian Church, Rural Hall Christian Church, The Living Well: Rural Hall Center for Lifelong Learning, Carolina Graduate School of Divinity, John Wesley University, and Charlotte Theological Seminary. Wesley has also delivered sermons in over 15 different churches on various occasions as well as other ministry projects.

Be thankful. . . this is God's will for you.

“In a sort of ghastly simplicity we remove the organ and demand the function. We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honour and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and bid the geldings be fruitful" (C.S. Lewis). Of course, the ruling elite want it this way. They remove the organ *so that* the man is dysfunctional. They make men without chests so that men will be corrupt and unsuccessful. They laugh at honor so that no patriots may be found. They castrate so that the geldings cannot be fruitful. While this is true of the ruling elite's wishes for the masses, may it not be true of the Christian Church. May "we," in the strength and wisdom of God, make men with chests. May we honor virtue and enterprise, and help our brethren to be prosperous and free.
