The 5th Annual Gator Cup was a hole-in-one success! ⛳️🐊 A huge thank you to our amazing Parent Council for hosting this fantastic event, and to everyone who came out to support and celebrate our community.

It was especially meaningful to welcome past parents, alumni, and friends of RCDS as we kick off our 100th year celebration! The day was filled with friendly competition, school spirit, and connections across generations—a true testament to the community that has made RCDS so special for nearly a century. 💚🐊

Exploring high school options? Join us for the Secondary School Fair at RCDS on Monday, September 28, from 3:30-5:30. Open to the greater community, this is an opportunity to meet with representatives from more than 50 day and boarding schools. Trinity Hall, Christian Brothers Academy, The Lawrenceville School, Blair Academy, and The Peddie School will all be in attendance. Register today at rcds.org/fair

A quiet moment of remembrance. Today, students lowered the flag to half-staff in memory of the lives lost 25 years ago on September 11, 2001, and the countless acts of courage and service that followed. May we continue to teach the next generation the importance of remembrance, compassion, and unity. 🇺🇸

Learning doesn’t stop for summer, and our teachers are learners, too! RCDS faculty have been busy gathering inspiration to bring back to students in just a few short weeks. Across grade levels, many teachers have taken advantage of rich online professional development, diving deeper into writing, math, classroom discussion, and more. Some more examples from this summer’s professional development include….

🖼️ Mrs. Peter and Mrs. Petersen honed their stained-glass skills with a local artist in preparation for using the new glass kiln in our renovated art studios.
👩🏻‍🏫Mrs. Fallon, Ms. Feldman, and Mrs. Parker traveled to Chicago to explore entrepreneurship education.
🌳 Ms. Prendergast and Mrs. Ahmadi headed to Tennessee’s Forest School Teacher Institute to discover new ways to integrate purposeful outdoor learning into Grade 4.

Whether learning from home or farther afield, our faculty are bringing new ideas and energy to the year ahead!
