Rudyard Cabinetry and Furniture Manufacturing wants to give a huge thank you to Maple Sawmill for their partnership to our program. We couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunities they have given our students to see the real process of a sawmill and how big the production is. Not only that, they also have supported us by purchasing a desk and conference table from our program (pictured below)!Thank you Maple Hardwoods, Inc.

The cabinetry students are eating good!!

The wood shops students have had a great year so far and have been really looking forward to fajitas! Mr. Perkins and Mr. Postma have really outdone themselves this year! Thank you Rudyard CTE program for this amazing way to send the students off for thanksgiving break!

We are very excited to get back into the wood shop soon! We are also very thankful for Atlas for coming in and working on getting the shop ready for us, they have done a great job so far and we cannot wait to see the end result!

Tuesday night we had a fire in the dust collection system in the woodshop. The CNC machine malfunctioned causing a fire to start, the fire made its way from the CNC machine up into the dust collector. We currently cannot work in the woodshop until we get the new dust collector installed. No projects were harmed in the fire and we are very excited for when we can get back on our feet and start working in the shop again!

With the holidays approaching the elf’s are hard at work in the CTE Cabinetry shop. They are working very hard to make cutting boards and cribbage boards that would make the perfect gift for your special loved ones this holiday season!

Cribbage boards- $50

Changed things up today in the cabinetry lab. The students built eight kitchen cabinet doors out of ash. We are excited to partner with Northwoods Christian Camp this year, helping them with their kitchen remodel.

The Cabinetry and Furniture Manufacturing students have been working hard to get our Great Lakes cribbage boards ready for you. These are built using our scrap wood and their sales are our major fundraiser for the year. We hope to have a bunch ready by the end of November, just in time for Christmas.
