This page has been created to inform the students/staff/parents of the Prairieview-Ogden School District with informational updates, upcoming events, and highlight achievements of our students. Prairieview-Ogden District #197 is a small rural K-8th grade public school district that serves around 250 students in

Champaign and Vermilion Counties. Prairieview-Ogden has three buildings: K-6th grade (South Elementary) building in Ogden, IL, K-4th grade (North Elementary) building in Royal, IL, and 7th/8th grade (PVO Jr. High) building in the community of Flatville.

What an incredible beginning to the school year at PVO! 💙🧡 Old friendships have been reignited on the playground, new connections are forming every day, and our classrooms are buzzing with energy.

Our Mustangs have jumped right into hands-on learning—from kicking off the weekend with exciting "Sci Fri" experiments to practicing letter-writing in sensory sand. Here are a few snapshots of our students learning & working together as we get this school year off to a great start. 🐴✨

🥔🏅 Kicking off the first full week with a look back at one of our favorite traditions: The 6th Grade Potato Olympics!

Last Friday, our 6th graders designed spud athletes, created custom country flags, and marched in a ceremonial parade before competing in potato rallies, tosses, and balancing acts. The high-energy day wrapped up with bronze, silver, and gold medals for top-performing teams! 🥇🥈🥉

A project like this takes serious teamwork, and it was inspiring to see our PVO and school community come together to create such a memorable kickoff. Here's to carrying that incredible energy and camaraderie right into this week ahead!💙🧡

PVO buses will attempt to run all regular bus routes tomorrow, Monday 8/17/26. Drivers will be using extreme caution as they navigate their routes. Route times may be adjusted and delayed because of road conditions resulting from this weekend's rain. Please be patient because drivers might be delayed if they need to reroute. If drivers cannot reach certain stops they will contact the district office and the district office will contact families directly.

If parents would rather transport their own children tomorrow we completely understand. Please call or text your driver if you choose to transport on your own. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this unique situation.
