Why do we put EVERY student’s name on our classroom doors?

Because those names are more than decoration.

Before a child ever walks into the classroom, we want them to see something that matters:

Their name. Their classroom. Their place.

A name on the door says:

You belong here.
You are part of this team.
Your teacher knows you.
We were expecting you.
This classroom is yours, too.

It creates ownership.
It builds relationships.
It makes our classrooms welcoming.
It reminds every adult walking our halls exactly who we are here for.

And when every classroom door is filled with student names, it sends one powerful message across our entire school:

Students are not just attending our school. They ARE our school.

Every name matters.
Every student belongs.
Every child should see evidence of that before they even walk through the door.

🤠 TUESDAY NIGHT: HLJ Family Dinner Night at Texas Roadhouse! Come eat, connect, and support HLJ!

💚 THURSDAY: Our FIRST GREEN DAY! Wear your HLJ green and bring in your Green Day recycling collections! ♻️

🏒 FRIDAY: PENALTY BOX! 🎉

📚 THE JAGUAR WAY TECH:
Our weekly goal is 2 PASSED i-Ready Reading lessons + 2 PASSED i-Ready Math lessons. Completed is good. PASSED shows learning! ✅

💙💛 FRIDAY WITH OUR FABULOUS FIRST GRADE TEAM! 🐾

You can see it in the smiles. Our teachers truly LOVE what they do, and our Jaguars get to feel that love every single day.

Teaching is so much more than lessons. It’s cheering kids on, making learning fun, building confidence, and making every child know they belong.

We are so incredibly blessed to have this amazing 1st grade team loving, teaching, and growing our Jaguars! 💙💛

💙💛 THE MOST AMAZING PTO! 💛💙

Today was our very first Just Poppin’ Friday 🍿🐾 and once again, our PTO showed up BIG for our Jaguars!

From fun events and special moments every month to helping in our cafeteria every single day, these incredible volunteers give their time, energy, and hearts to HLJ.

And guess what? YOU can get involved too! Whether you have 30 minutes, one day, or want to help with an event, there is a place for you.

Because at the end of the day, it’s the PEOPLE who make HLJ so special. 💙💛
