As a Latina and daughter of immigrants, I know how important it is to be familiar with ones own culture, even if you no longer live in your (or your parents') native country. In this video you can see how some adoptive parents took steps to maintain their children's ethnic identity, and how others did not. Cultural and racial mirrors are important. In addition, helping your children learn and/or maintain their native language is huge, and helps negate the sense of loss many adoptees feel. I am happy some parents took those steps for their kids.
