ROSE GPE

ROSE GPE Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology offers a great setting for eager undergraduate engineers to thrive.

After almost two decades without a Formula SAE team, Rose-Hulman Grand Prix Engineering return Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to this storied international competition series. Formula SAE is a welcome challenge for many of these bright students. Rose-Hulman has fielded very successful teams in other design competitions such as the EcoCAR challenge, Efficient Vehicles, and Human Powered Vehicl

e. Our goal is to be just as successful as these other teams, not only in the competition, but also in our ability to produce better engineers through practical, hands on experience. The facilities available to the Formula SAE team are extensive. These include high powered computers for the CAD designs and analytical simulations, engine dynamometers, a full machine shop and welding facilities, among others. The faculty at Rose-Hulman has a genuine desire to see their students become great engineers and is willing to assist without hesitation. We have built a good relationship with our faculty advisors as well as other interested professors and look forward to their continued guidance on this project.

RoseGPE proudly brought our last ICE race car to the annual Rose-Hulman tent, sponsored by Automotive Insight, at the Woodward Dream Cruise! This event is recognized as the world’s largest one-day automotive gathering, attracting over one million visitors and featuring over 40,000 classic cars. 🏁🏎️

We had a fantastic opportunity to network with Rose-Hulman alumni working at companies like General Motors, Stellantis, Roush, and American Axle.

The team had a great time competing at the first annual Formula Wheat this past weekend! We thank Kansas State University for having us and we hope to come back next year!

We used this time to put let new members get used to the pressure of a competition setting, while gathering data in the best scenario possible. We will be able to compete at even higher levels for FSAE Michigan 2024 with the knowledge and experience gained from our first off season event.

Stay tuned for new onboard footage!

Rose Grand Prix Engineering would like to thank our sponsors for the 22-23 season! We wouldn't have gotten to competition without them! While the team passed all of our static and dynamic inspections. Our competition unfortunately came to an early end on Friday during an autocross run. Our front A-arms "rapidly deconstucted" due to unforseen forces. Thankfully, our driver is safe, and no one got hurt! Our goals were to increase power and reduce weight this year. We had to push the boundaries and find our limits. Our car weighed in at 160 kg this year, making us one of the lightest cars in the paddock! We aim to come back full swing next year!
