Our Story - The History of Accounting Business Solutions by JCS - Started at a kitchen table in Chicago in 1989

As I settled in to a new home, community and with new friends I was still unsure where I wanted to focus my energies and efforts. A few months into our new home I hired Ron Reading, an electrician to install a ceiling fan in the kitchen of my home. As he worked, we talked about many things in life, hobbies, family, work, passions and dreams. I suggested to Ron that I had a background in information technology and accounting and had just left a job in corporate America and that I felt like I wanted to work in the small business market.

I really did not put much thought into the next series of events that occurred until several years later. I now reflect on this initial opportunity I was provided and realize just how fortunate I was to be in the right place at exactly the right time. Two days after Ron left my house my front door bell rang. I answered and was greeted by a lady standing in my doorway with a box of Sage Accounting Software in her hand and a smile on her face. Her initial comment to me was “Hi, my name is Marge and my friend told me you could help me figure out how to use this software I just bought for my business because I can’t do this by myself.” This is how my company started.

I wanted to take the accounting and business concepts I learned at a corporate level and work with small business entrepreneurs. I believe the right technology and accounting software can help small businesses be successful and create jobs to help stimulate the economy.
