It's time once again to announce the newest Wall of Fame winner!
Ladies and Gentlemen.....
the Wall of Fame award goes to......

THOMAS!!!

Thomas was nominated by his teacher, Ken. Ken says Thomas has been a stalwart student since day 1. He plays drums in Gummy Bear Devourment, takes drum lessons with Mike, and has been my most dedicated guitar student since he first set foot in my lesson room. Thomas is curious and unafraid of taking on concepts that are unfamiliar to him. I always find him playing things that he has taken the initiative to learn on his own as well. We have gone from doom metal to country, singer songwriter folk to reggae. He really is a treat to work with and is deserving of the acknowledgement that is the DSRP Wall of Fame!

Please join us in congratulating Thomas on a job well done! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

HEAR YEโ€ฆHEAR YEโ€ฆ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

Each year we have the most incredible opportunity to honor and remember one of our former adult students, Dave Lonzo, with a scholarship in his name. Dave played guitar and sang in one of our adult bands but sadly passed away suddenly on October 6, 2017. It was a devastating loss! He made such a positive impact here at DSRP that after he died, someone reached out to see if they could create an adult band scholarship in his name. This is how awesome Dave was and this is how the scholarship program began. (If you look on my desk at the front desk, you'll see his picture.)

The scholarship provides an adult student with 6 months of free tuition for band rehearsals. How fitting that this is being awarded on the anniversary of his passing (albeit a day late.) Dave would be so thrilled!

So folks, without further delay, allow me to introduce this year's Dave Lonzo Memorial Scholarship winner. And the winner is.......

VARUN IYER!

Varun is a bass student and is joining Dave Lonzo's band, Drawing Straws. Look for his name to be added to our commemorative plaque in the lobby very soon.

Please join us in congratulating Varun and be sure to watch for him on stage at the Royal Oak Holidays show in December!
