We are proud to share that Nurtury Early Education is featured in Episode 2, “Daycare Dilemma,” of CNN's latest documentary series “Priced Out in America.”

CNN Correspondent Phil Mattingly visited Nurtury Learning Lab in May to discuss the child care affordability crisis impacting families in MA with Nurtury Early Education President & CEO, Laura Perille.

“Families can’t afford to pay, and early educators can’t afford to stay,” explained Perille.

While Massachusetts has continued to make investments in early education, it is still one of the most expensive states for child care in the country — that’s because MA also has one of the highest standards for quality of care, which in turn requires higher operating costs.

In the episode, Perille discusses the importance of investing in access to affordable, high-quality care and early education for all families. This segment on child care is just one part of a larger CNN series focusing on various financial stressors affecting families across the country.

While Nurtury Early Education continues its efforts to increase wages for educators and make child care as affordable as possible for families, CNN’s “Daycare Dilemma” emphasizes that it will take a collective effort to best support children, families, and early educators.

Thank you to Phil and the entire team at CNN for covering such an important topic and including us in this project. You can watch the full episode of “Daycare Dilemma” and entire series of “Priced Out in America” here by using a CNN subscription or your TV provider: https://www.cnn.com/videos/title-2600350

We had the best time celebrating International Day of Play on Boston Common last month thanks to the City of Boston Office of Early Childhood.🎪🧩🎉🫧

Children enjoyed playing musical instruments, making art, building with Legos, dancing, and so much more! It was a fun day filled with lots of joy, movement, and creativity.

Play-based learning is a cornerstone of our curriculum at Nurtury Early Education, and this event is a great opportunity to connect and engage in so many different types of play-based activities.🎨🥁🎶

We were proud to send twelve classrooms across our three early learning centers to this Nurtury fan-favorite event. Thank you to all of our teachers, staff, and parents who help make this outing possible each year!

Thank you to the Mayor’s Office and Boston Parks and Recreation Department for hosting this event. It was a great way to cool down on such a hot day and kick off the start of summer!

The Garden Room at Nurtury Learning Lab now has a beautiful, handcrafted mosaic sign thanks to the help and hands of many children, staff, and volunteers at Nurtury Early Education. Here’s a glimpse into the process that went into making this piece!

Our arts educator, Ms. Stacy, came up with the wonderful idea for this project. She asked children what should appear on the sign for the Garden Room — they suggested a bee, a butterfly, and flowers.

When volunteers from Serve with Liberty visited the Lab to help us with a gardening project, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity for them to help with this collaborative project. Volunteers helped sort tiles and applied glue for children to start tiling.

Children from Rooms 211, 209, and 216 took turns visiting the Art Studio and adding their creativity as they helped to carefully place tiles. Many Nurtury staff members and volunteers contributed a tile or two as well.

It was such a special experience to watch the sign transform from a few tiles on a board to a fully completed mosaic. Everyone greatly enjoyed the process of creating this piece and helping to make decisions about colors to include along the way.

Thank you as always to our partners at The Beautiful Stuff Project for providing us with the materials, consultation, and grouting needed to complete this project!

We are lucky to have this incredible sign as a representation of our community and the many hands that help our spaces grow!🌱🌺🐝

Thank you to The Beautiful Stuff Project for always helping us get the best materials for our art endeavors! We are so grateful for your assistance with this special mosaic project for our Garden Room at our Nurtury Learning Lab in Jamaica Plain. Children, staff, and volunteers from Serve with Liberty had so much fun working on this collaborative project, and we can't wait to share the final results.

When was slated to host volunteers at one of their centers they knew they wanted art to be a part of it. Their fabulous art director reached out to us for consult and supplies to create with them a mosaic sign for their garden. Message us here if you have a project you would like to do yourself in your space but need this kind of service from us. We are here for it.

Taco Tuesday: Teacher Appreciation Week Edition🌮

We’re celebrating our incredible early childhood educators for the hard work they put in each and every day. Early educators play such a pivot role in a child’s development and are truly shaping children’s lives inside the classroom and beyond.✨

Our three early learning centers have already kicked off this week with celebratory breakfasts and meals to thank our teachers and program staff.

Today, our Horadan Way Center enjoyed a special taco bar lunch, and the festivities have only just begun!🎉
