Roxbury Central School Serving children in grades Pre-K-12 The district offers a small school environment of 355 students and 44 teachers in a friendly community atmosphere.

Roxbury Central School, constructed in 1939, was expanded and renovated in 1997 to include state-of-the-art classrooms, computer and distance learning labs, as well as, new athletic facilities. Governed by a five-member Board of Education, community pride is evident in small class sizes, 200 computers for the students, choral and instrumental music in grades K-12, a strong tradition of championshi

ps in both girls and boy’s athletics, and high expectations. With fewer than 15 students in class on average, children are well known, nurtured, and challenged. There are AP courses, college courses via distance learning, driver education, Science Olympiad (NYS Champions 1995), and more.

We’re excited to announce that Career Day is coming up, and we would love to showcase the amazing work our caregivers do every day!
If you’re willing to share your career path, skills, and experiences with our students, we’d be thrilled to have you as a guest speaker. Presentations should be short, fun, and interactive—we’ll help with anything you need!

⛳🏫 Golfing Into Great Learning! 🏫⛳

Last week in PE, our students had the chance to try something a little different—golf instruction! From learning proper grip and stance to practicing their swings, students showed focus, patience, and plenty of determination.

It was great to see everyone stepping out of their comfort zones, encouraging one another, and celebrating each improvement along the way. Who knows… we may have a few future golfers in the making!

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible. Learning new skills like this is what makes PE so much fun! 🏌️‍♂️✨

🎂📚 A Sweet Success! 📚🎂

Our FLOB Cake Decorating Contest on March 18th was an incredible success! From creative designs to delicious masterpieces, our students and families truly outdid themselves this year.

The library was filled with amazing cakes inspired by books and reading, and the evening auction brought our community together for a fun and memorable event. There were so many unique and imaginative entries—it was clear how much time, effort, and creativity went into each one.

Thank you to all the families who participated, everyone who came out to bid and support, and to those who helped organize this fantastic event. Your support helps make FLOB such a meaningful experience for our students.

We loved seeing all of the “sweet treats” and can’t wait to do it again next year! 🍰✨

❤️⛑️ Learning Skills That Save Lives ⛑️❤️

Our 10th grade students are getting hands on experience practicing CPR as part of their CPR Certification course. During this training, students learn the proper techniques for chest compressions, emergency response steps, and how to act quickly in a life threatening situation.

These important skills help prepare students to respond confidently during emergencies and potentially save lives in their communities.

We are proud of our students for taking this training seriously and building skills that truly make a difference.

🎂📚 FLOB Family Cake Decorating Contest is Back! 📚🎂

The 21st Annual Family Cake Decorating Contest is almost here as part of our FLOB (For the Love Of Books) celebration, and we invite all RCS families to join the fun!

🗓 Wednesday, March 18
⏰ Cake entries due to the library by 9:00 AM

Then come back in the evening for a sweet community event!

🎉 6:00 PM – Library
Community members can view the cakes, place bids in our silent auction, and win prizes. All cakes will be auctioned off as part of our FLOB fundraiser. Starting bids begin at $5.00.

🎨 Contest Guidelines
• You can design your cake around a favorite book or let this year’s theme, Winter Olympics: Get Ready, Get Set, Go, inspire your creation!
• 1 cake entry per family
• Cakes can be any shape, size, or flavor, so bring your creativity and imagination. Every entry leaves with a treat!

📝 Entry Forms
Please see Mrs. Tucker for entry forms, then return completed forms to Mrs. Tucker by March 13th.

We can’t wait to see all of the creative and delicious “SWEET TREATS” our families come up with! 📖✨🍰

Attention all Roxbury Spring Athletes! e will be using Arbiter Family ID for all sport registrations. If you are signed up for a winter sport (ski, cheerleading, modified basketball, JV basketball, or varsity basketball) please complete the registration. The registration is due by March 30, 2026. You must complete everything!

1. Go to www.arbiter.io
2. In the top right corner, click "Login"
3. In the drop down menu, click "For Families/Students"
4. On the bottom of a login screen, in blue, it says "if you don't have an account, sign up"
5. Create a free account
6. In the bar where you can search for an organization, type in "Roxbury Central School"
7. Choose New York as the state in the drop down menu to the right of the search bar
8. When you search, the very first option will be Roxbury Central School with our school logo
9. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the registration link provided
10. Fill out everything in its entirety. School officials will be notified when you've completed the registration

Our FLOB: For the Love Of Books celebration is in full swing, and March is packed with fun, creativity, and school spirit as we continue to celebrate reading together!

Here’s what’s coming up:

Create Your Favorite Book Cover Week begins!
Students can recreate their favorite book cover using a cereal box. Let the creativity begin!

Cake Contest Forms Due
Be sure to turn in your form if you plan to enter the cake decorating contest.

The Southeast Family and Community Engagement Center is hosting a virtual parent training series called Positive Solutions for Families, designed to support positive and effective parenting strategies that strengthen children’s social and emotional development.

🗓 First Session: March 18th
⏰ 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
💻 Virtual

This four part series, developed by The Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning, explores:
✨ Building positive relationships
✨ Understanding behavior and why children do what they do
✨ Teaching problem solving and emotional skills
✨ Responding with purpose and a plan

You can attend any session. No need to commit to all four.
