Jazz Lab is a week-long creative summer music program unlike anything you’ve ever done. Teenage musicians work with world-class faculty and guest artists in small ensembles, instrumental workshops, masterclasses, and enjoy incredible performances. MAY 23-24
This two-day webinar is designed for musicians of all levels interested in a more creative and hands-on approach to music theory. We will be composing music on the spot, learning new unique ways to create interesting harmonies, exploring different strategies to use this knowledge to improvise and reharmonize pieces. For beginners, this can be a great way to dive into music theory without the overcomplicated academic language that gets in the way of actually playing. For intermediate, advanced students and educators, this is a great way to have a fresh approach to creative music making methodologies, learning directly from a Juilliard professor.

We will be working on:
- unusual reharmonization techniques
- creative composition models
- new approaches to improvisation
- Q&A sessions
- handouts, exercises and reference materials

Come join us at the New England Conservatory in Boston for this amazing weeklong intensive for creative teen musicians, ages 13–18., Jazz Lab helps students grow their unique musical voice through small group ensembles, improvisation workshops, and masterclasses with professional jazz artists from Juilliard, Berklee, NEC, MIT and others.

No audition is required — just curiosity, openness, and a love of music.
