Person High School Band

Through hard work, dedication, and passion, Person High School marching band has been ranked 5th in the entire state this year, which has not happened in the history of the marching band! This couldn’t be possible without the help of all of our band, parents and band boosters so thank you all so much! Congratulations!

Even though we are number five in the state, the voting is still in progress so I encourage everyone to please vote for person high school so they can win this vote overall. Congrats again on 5th overall!!

Please come out and support these many ensembles on May 14th at 6:30 pm at Southern Middle School. Admission is free. And of course, if you are a PHS band alumni, come join the band on our final piece and play with us! Let me know if you are interested in doing that so I can arrange for you.

Person Tradition Concert Band earned a superior rating (the highest you can receive) during concert MPA today over at Cedar Ridge high school. Couldn’t be more proud of this group and how much they have grown over the last year! There has been so much improvement, good job!

Just a reminder, as we continue moving forward through the spring semester, we are excited to share a few upcoming fundraising opportunities that will directly support our upcoming marching band community and program, we are thrilled to remind everyone of our announced community 5K and Fun Run event this April.

The Person High School Band will host a 5K (3.10 miles) and 1-Mile Fun Run on April 25, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Huck Sansbury Park. This event will serve as a major fundraiser to help offset costs associated with the PHS Marching Band season, including competition fees, travel expenses, and equipment needs.

All registered participants will receive a finisher’s medal and event T-shirt. To make the morning even more special, members of the band will be performing at various points along the course to encourage and support our runners.

Registration options include:

5K – $30 per person

1-Mile Fun Run – $20 per person

Virtual 5K – $25 per person (for those who cannot attend in person)

All proceeds from this event go directly to the band boosters to support our students and ensure a successful and rewarding marching band season.

PHS Marching Band 5K and Fun Run The PHS Marching Band 5K and Fun Run is on Saturday April 25, 2026. It includes the following events: PHS Marching Band 5K Run or Walk, PHS Marching Band Virtual 5K Run, and PHS Marching Band Fun Run.

Our High School Band is joining with the Roxboro Community High School Band for a joint concert this Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30 pm ar RCS! Come out and support the work these bands have done so far!


Come out and support our PHS marching band in their winter concert tonight! The band will perform a variety of musical selections in this concert featuring the marching band as well as the beginning jazz band.

Concert takes place at Southern Middle School at 6:00 pm tonight. Event is free of charge and highly encourage everyone to come and support our person high school marching band!

The PHS band now enters week 2 of their home and bedding goods fundraiser. We are 39% of the way to our goal but only have 15 days left! Please help us reach our goal by visiting our fundraising page and consider purchasing our goods or even donating to the program. All money goes to band use for the students. We are selling home and bedding goods such as blankets, pillows, etc. If the band hits their goal of $7,000, they will get custom fleece jackets with their name and section on it!
