This is Rhonda Daye, principal at South Elementary School with an important announcement.
The safety and welfare of our students and staff are our highest priority at South Elementary School. This message is to notify you that today our students and staff practiced one of many planned lockdown drills throughout the school year. Our students and staff did a wonderful job practicing today’s lockdown drill.
The goal of our drills throughout the school year is to improve our ability to protect students.
South’s administration is taking every precaution to make sure your child is safe while attending school. We are pleased with the outcome of today’s drill and feel reassured that our safety plans can be implemented effectively by our staff.
Please talk with your child, if you deem it appropriate, about the drill. Our goal, while practicing important safety procedures, is to be sure all students feel safe. I also ask that you please reinforce to your child that if they see something they feel is inappropriate, to please share that information with the first adult in which they come in contact. Thanks for your continued support and trust in the South Elementary School staff and our school resource officers.
