💙💛 We are incredibly proud to share that Pine Grove School has officially been recognized as a Special Olympics Unified Champion School!❤️❤️❤️
So what does that really mean?
Being a Unified Champion School is about creating a school community where students of all abilities are included, valued, connected, and given opportunities to participate and lead. And while Unified activities are an important part of this work, this recognition represents something much bigger. It reflects the culture we work hard to create throughout all of Pine Grove.
At PGS, inclusion happens in so many ways every day. Our students learn together, play together, participate in schoolwide activities together, build friendships, support one another, and learn that everyone has something important to contribute. It is woven into our classrooms, our Unified PE opportunities, our assemblies and celebrations, our PGS PRIDE values, and the way we work to make sure every child knows they belong and feel loved!
A very special thank you to PGS parent Amy Holland, who came to us believing that Pine Grove already had so many wonderful pieces in place that represented the heart of a Unified Champion School. From there, we asked a simple question: What else do we need to do? And together, we did it!
We are also so appreciative of Mrs. Boselli, Mrs. Kelley, Ms. Dubis, Ms. Meiman, Mrs. Goldner, and Mr. Campbell for working alongside us as we brought the different pieces of this recognition together and as we continue to grow our Unified opportunities at PGS.
Receiving this recognition and banner is incredibly special, but what makes us most proud is what it represents: a school where ALL students are an important part of our community. This recognition reflects the work, heart, and commitment to inclusion that can be seen throughout Pine Grove every single day.
We love our Pine Grove family so much, and we could not be prouder of our students, staff, and families. This belongs to all of PGS! 💙💛
Every Voice. Every Story. Every Day. ❤️
