Back Elementary School

We would love to see you at Fine Arts Night this Thursday!

The senior walk is an event for graduating high school seniors to come back and walk the halls where they began their schooling journey. We hope to see former Back Bulldogs on May 19th!

We know how important it is for students to be in school, and we appreciate your understanding as we make decisions with the safety of our students and staff in mind. We also recognize that many families across our community are experiencing extreme weather-related challenges, including power outages and hazardous driving conditions due to lingering ice on roadways.

Due to unsafe road conditions and continued concerns in both our surrounding neighborhoods and campuses, all Garland ISD schools and district offices will remain closed on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Make-Up Days: Information regarding make-up dates will be shared as soon as it becomes available.

Extracurricular Activities: All after-school activities for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, are canceled. Coaches and sponsors will communicate directly with participants as details about rescheduled events become available.

Thursday, January 29: Based on current National Weather Service forecasts, temperatures are expected to rise above freezing by Wednesday afternoon. At this time, we anticipate classes will resume as scheduled on Thursday, January 29. Our team will continue monitoring conditions and checking campuses to ensure they are safe and ready to welcome students and staff.

Ensuring the safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. Due to unsafe road conditions, all Garland ISD schools and district offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27, 2026. All after-school activities are canceled. Information regarding makeup dates (after Jan. 27) will be communicated as soon as possible. Coaches and sponsors will share additional details directly with participants as they become available.

Based on current weather forecasts, temperatures are expected to be above freezing by Tuesday afternoon. At this time, we anticipate classes will be held as scheduled on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Any updates will be communicated to families and staff on Tuesday.

Due to the inclement weather and unsafe road conditions, all schools and district offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. All after-school activities are also cancelled. Art Club completed a mural on Friday! This was a great opportunity for them to create a piece of public art for the community. Stop by and see it at 2510 Glenbrook Dr in Garland.

Congratulations Mrs. Ross for being named the Region 10 Elementary Teacher of the year!

Save the Date! May 1st is our annual Fine Arts Night! This year we are also celebrating Back’s 40th Birthday! We invite all current and past Back students, families, and staff to come out from 5:30-7:30pm on May 1st. See you there!

📢 Reminder for Garland ISD Families!
All campuses and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Classes will continue as usual on Monday, November 4, and we’ll resume our regular schedule on Wednesday, November 6.
