We recently received an unexpected email from a coach at another school following one of our football games. His words reminded us of what Southlands Athletics is all about.
He shared that throughout the game, he watched our coaches and players encourage their opponents, compliment great tackles, runs, and catches, and consistently help players up off the
field.
He wrote:
“Your team truly embodied the role our schools play to train up young men to be Christian leaders of the future in their churches, homes, and community.”
What a testimony to our football players and coaching staff. 💙💛
Of course, we want to compete. We want to play hard. We want to win. But even more importantly, we want our student-athletes to understand that how they compete matters.
We are incredibly proud of our coaches for modeling Christ-centered leadership and of our athletes for representing Southlands with character, respect, and sportsmanship, even when they may not realize anyone is watching.
