Would YOU take a donkey to gather cattle? 😂🫏🐄

Shamus got to work alongside the horses and dogs today, and I think he fit into the crew pretty darn well.

What job does YOUR donkey love to do? 👇

08/25/2026

Which would YOU do first? 👇

A) Start introducing bigger movements and “scary” things
😎 Build the donkey’s confidence just being around you

I choose B.

Before I become the “spaz” 😂, I want the donkey to have some confidence in me first. Then I can gradually expand what they’re able to handle.

What would you choose—A or B?

08/24/2026

Would YOU have rewarded this? 👀

D**g never actually picked up his foot. He only shifted his weight—and I immediately released and paid him.

That wasn’t a mistake.

Right now I’m looking for the beginning of the answer, not the finished behavior. That little weight shift tells me something changed in response to my question.

Recognizing and rewarding those tiny tries is one of the things that can make working with donkeys very different.

🐴 We’re going LIVE TWICE today!

We’re going LIVE at 10:00 AM Mountain Time for our regular public Training Wild Burros live.

Then later today, we’re coming back for a members-only Donkey Experiment LIVE!

Nula and Nuda have reached a really interesting point in their training, and something unexpected has happened that is changing where the experiment goes from here.

During the members live, I’m going to bring both girls out and show you exactly where they are in their training right now, talk about what I’m seeing, and share what happens next.

I don’t have a time or link for the second live yet — I’ll share that as soon as we figure out what the rest of our day looks like!

Two lives. Two very different conversations. See you today! 🫏❤️

🐴 We’re going LIVE TODAY at 10:00 AM Mountain Time!

My Donkey Lets Me Pet Them… Now What?

Getting that first touch can feel like such a HUGE accomplishment—especially with a wild or nervous donkey.

But then comes the question…

What do I do next?

Today I’m taking you out to the pens and actually working with the donkeys instead of just talking about it.

We have four wild burros at different stages. One is comfortable being touched on only one side, another accepts a halter, and two are beginning to lead and have their feet handled.

I’m not going into the pens with a checklist of what each donkey HAS to accomplish.

Instead, I want to show you how I look at the donkey in front of me and decide:

What does THIS donkey need next?

Some of these donkeys were on our live last week, too, so we’ll get to see what has changed!

Those big donkey ears make bridling a little different! 🫏

I don’t just want to get the bridle on—I want my donkey comfortable with the process, especially when it comes to handling those ears.

It may seem like a small detail, but the little things matter.

I don’t want to just show you what I can do with a donkey.

I want to teach YOU how to work with yours.

Because when the clinic is over, you’re the one going home with your donkey—and I want you to leave with more tools, more understanding, and more confidence about what to do next.

At my 3-Day Donkey Clinics, you’ll bring YOUR donkey and we’ll work from where the two of you are right now.

Maybe you’re still working on leading and handling feet.

Maybe you’re ready for obstacles or packing.

Maybe you’re riding and want to take your training farther.

You don’t have to be at the same level as anyone else at the clinic.

🫏 My donkey lets me pet them… NOW WHAT?

You’ve gotten past that first big hurdle.

Your donkey will come near you.
They’ll take treats.
They’ll finally let you pet them.

But now you’re wondering…

What am I supposed to do next?

That’s what we’re talking about LIVE this morning!

We’ll work with real donkeys at different stages and talk about how I decide what the next step should be—without rushing past the foundation we’ve worked so hard to build.
