Writing Today marks a historic and deeply meaningful moment for our community. We proudly celebrate Shanchuiphy Keishing—the first from our tribe to receive the prestigious James McKinney Outstanding Performer Award, presented by Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, on April 15, 2026, in recognition of exceptional academic achievement. This honor is not hers alone; it is a shared pride for all of us.
Shanchuiphy, your dedication, discipline, and pursuit of excellence have set a remarkable standard and opened new paths for others to follow. You have made us immensely proud.
On a personal note, I am especially grateful to have been your first music teacher. Witnessing your journey and seeing you reach such heights is truly rewarding.

It’s Finally Here!
With joy and thanksgiving, we share our Living Room Music Video! Though it was recorded right in the living room in just 15 minutes, its simple and humble setting reminds us of the lowly place where our Savior entered the world. In this small space, we sought to reflect the wonder and beauty of Christ’s birth—the true Light who shines in the darkness.
This Christmas, we rejoice in the greatest gift of all—Jesus Christ, our Savior, who came to bring forgiveness, peace, and eternal life to every sinner. He did not come to rule by force, but to call us lovingly through His Gospel into faith and salvation. Truly, God is with us—Emmanuel!
As you watch and listen, may the message of Christ’s birth strengthen your heart with the peace that only He can give. May His love fill your home with comfort, hope, and lasting joy.
We thank our gracious God for the privilege of serving Him through music and for every opportunity to proclaim His saving name.
If this video touches your heart, we invite you to share it with others. You never know how the good news of Christ’s love might reach someone in need of Salvation, peace, comfort and hope.
Merry Christmas!May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you now and always.
To God alone be the glory.
My niece, Shanchuiphy, has been singing with me since she was about four years old. You should check out her new rendition of Little Drummer Boy — it’s a beautiful reimagining of the classic.

Twenty years ago, I wrote a song that was never professionally recorded. Eighteen years later, when I met my wife, Rachel Khamrang, in Santiago, Chile, And after 12 years we decided to revisit and rewrite the song together for Bible song project
Fast forward to 2025, I finally chose to record in my studio. The production sounded good, but something was missing—a truly powerful vocal. One day, while Dave was at my studio fixing the air conditioner, I discovered that he was an excellent singer. I invited him to record the vocals, and the result was nothing short of perfect. His voice blended beautifully with the music I had created.
Since I had originally written only one verse and the choruses, I asked Dave to compose the second verse and the ending lyrics. The collaboration brought the song to life in a way I had never imagined.
This song is dedicated to all walks of life seeking encouragement, and it also serves as a source of hope and healing for those in recovery and support groups. What began as a simple idea two decades ago has now become a heartfelt piece of music that tells a story of faith, renewal, never give up and divine timing.

Time to make some music. I’ve long been curious about the blend of these four instruments: a custom 5‑string cello modified by my friend Frank, the Tingteila — a traditional Tangkhul instrument handcrafted by my brother, Mayami H. Handrikz — alongside my Nord and Gibson Acoustic SJ‑200. Excited to explore their unique voices together and create something new. Cooking some music today.
