Dear Hernandez Middle School Families,

We are aware that student schedules are currently visible in Home Access Center (HAC). At this time, please note that our counselors are still actively working on student schedules, and they are not yet finalized.

As we continue balancing class sizes, making placement adjustments, and ensuring students are scheduled appropriately, you may notice changes to your student's schedule over the next several days.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important process. We will send a campus-wide communication as soon as schedules are 100% finalized and ready for families to review.

Our leadership team came together to collaborate, reflect, learn, and prepare for an amazing school year ahead. Through meaningful conversations, team-building activities, and strategic planning, we strengthened our commitment to ensuring every Bulldog has the opportunity to succeed.

Hi, Orchestra Families!

I hope you’ve been having a great summer. We are planning to have summer orchestra camp at the beginning of August. This is for continuing orchestra students only (and is an optional opportunity), so please ignore if this email finds you by mistake.

Orchestra camp will take place at Hernandez from August 3–6, and it is free to attend! This camp is open to all returning 7th and 8th grade orchestra students and is a great opportunity for us to reconnect, get back into playing shape, and have fun together before the school year starts.

Tentative schedule, Monday, August 3 through Wednesday, August 5:

8:30-9:45 AM: strings only rehearsal
9:50-11:15 AM: combined with the band for full orchestra rehearsal

On the morning of Thursday, August 6, we will rehearse and perform for students at the 6th grade orientation, followed by poster making, games, and Kona Ice. In the afternoon, we will have an optional social outing for students. There will be a cost associated with the activity. More details and a permission slip will be sent out via email. Students must attend at least three days of camp rehearsals to be eligible to attend the social outing.
