As we prepare to celebrate more graduates across South University this week and weekend, we're inspired by stories like that of 2025 graduate LeVar E. Curry. 🪖

After facing setbacks while trying to enroll elsewhere, LeVar didn't give up. Encouraged by a fellow military service member, he connected with South University, brought in his paperwork, and soon began his journey toward earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from South University, Columbia.

LeVar's experience as a military recruiter not only helped him serve others, but also helped him earn credit toward his degree and continue building his future.🎖️

His story is a reminder that the path to graduation isn't always a straight line. Sometimes it includes obstacles, detours, and moments that test your perseverance. But when opportunity meets determination, incredible things can happen.

To our graduates preparing to cross the stage in the coming days: your hard work, resilience, and commitment have brought you to this moment. We can't wait to celebrate all you've accomplished and all that lies ahead.

❤️ This week is National CPR & AED Awareness Week, and it's a powerful reminder that knowing what to do in an emergency can save a life.

Did you know that approximately 70% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen at home? That means if you're ever called upon to perform CPR, it will most likely be for someone you know and love - a parent, spouse, child, family member, friend, or neighbor.

At South University, many of our students, alumni, faculty, and healthcare professionals are trained in CPR and AED use because every second matters when a cardiac emergency occurs.

The truth is simple: You could be the difference between life and death for someone you care about.

As Military Appreciation Month comes to a close, South University, Austin is proud to recognize and honor the service, sacrifice, and dedication of our military students and their families. 🇺🇸

Yesterday, our Financial Aid Department had the privilege of hosting a special Military Appreciation Event celebrating those who have served while continuing to pursue their educational goals. The event brought together students, families, and staff for an afternoon filled with gratitude, connection, support, and community.

We were honored to welcome 15 students and family members and create a meaningful space to celebrate the resilience, commitment, and achievements of our military-connected community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event such a success. South University remains committed to supporting our military students and families throughout every step of their academic journey. 💙🪖🎖️🧡

Today, South University honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. 🇺🇸

On this Memorial Day, we reflect with gratitude on the courage, selflessness, and dedication of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy each day. We also extend our deepest appreciation to the military families and loved ones who carry their legacies forward.
