Recently, some of our Walsh Band trombonists had the opportunity to learn from international performer and newly appointed professor at the UMKC Conservatory, Dr. Lauren Casey-Clyde.
Dr. Casey-Clyde formerly taught many of these students when she was a part of our Walsh private lesson faculty, so we're so grateful to have had the chance to hold a masterclass one more time before she left the Austin area.
Thank you and good luck, Dr. Casey-Clyde!

Earlier this month, Walsh Middle School hosted the Region 26 Middle School All-Region Band auditions featuring students from different band programs from all over Round Rock, Austin, and surrounding areas. With over 300 students from the 20 schools participating in the final round of the competition, Walsh had 46 students receive the All-Region recognition and earned a spot in one of the three prestigious ensembles.
Catch our amazing Walsh musicians at the next Walsh Band event, our Walsh Advanced Band Winter Concert, 6:30PM Tuesday 11/18 at the Round Rock ISD Performing Arts Center by McNeil HS. We hope to see you there!

28 chamber groups performed on Wednesday night! Each section from our Honor, Symphonic, and Concert Bands collaborated to perform a piece for our Fall Chamber Music Concert. This performance is especially meaningful because students perform without a conductor—listening, leading, and collaborating entirely on their own. These students showed amazing teamwork, leadership, and musical maturity. We’re so proud of them!
